How to: Re-order the Pages listed on the navigation bar

You can change the ordering of the items presented on your navigation bar by re-ordering the pages in the Pages area. This article explains how to do this.

Contest experiences cannot have their pages re-ordered once they have been published, this is due to the complexity around experience phasing.

At present, it is not possible to change the landing page by re-ordering (The landing page is the page a user will first see when they open the experience). On most experience types the Details page will be the landing page.

What to do

  1. Open Pages from the right-hand navigation area.
  2. Click and drag the page you need to re-order buy using the | Re-order icon.

  3. A blue dashed line will indicate its new position in the Page order.
  4. Once you have the new desired location set release the mouse button to commit the change. You should now see that the navigation bar ordering has updated to reflect the ordering in Pages.

Why can't you re-order contests?

Contests are the only experience type that uses multiple phases, in each phase (Entry, Judging etc) the pages that are displayed change and can be presented in a different order (depending on the pages you've added). For example, in the Judging phase, it makes sense to hide the Entry page, since the Entry period has closed.

At present, we do not currently have a way to show the Page ordering/visibility across all phases, what you see at present only applies to the first phase, which for all other experience types is correct.

There are future plans to build a multi-phase Pages area.
